We have now entered the forth month of our coronavirus life. Though the government have lessened restrictions and we may now meet with up to six people outdoors, visit garden centres, send some children to school, all while maintaining social distance, the reality for many is still staying in our homes and gardens. The roses this year have been particularly wonderful giving the most fantastic displays which calm and lift our spirits.
With almost no rain in April and the hottest May on record working in the garden has been both a blessing and a curse. The enjoyment of raising and planting almost outweighed by the necessity to constantly water. However it has been a real treat to find a shady spot and sketch out doors en plein air. Now here we are in ‘flaming June’ and at last the rain has arrived!
